Boating
Sailing along the canals of Cape Coral or out fishing or snorkeling in the Gulf – that’s what many visitors to Florida dream of. Numerous companies have specialized in renting out boats to vacationers in “Florida’s Venice”.

We’ve made very good experience with the following boat rental company and can fully recommend it:

Florida Boat License
If you were born before January 1, 1988, you don’t need a boat license to go boating in Florida. All you need is a valid driving license.

If you were born on or after January 1, 1988, the law stipulates that you should have a Florida Boating Safety Identification Card. The minimum age for renting a boat is between 21 and 25 years, depending on the rental company.

Beaches

Cape Coral BeachThere are plenty of fabulous beaches around Cape Coral, but the Cape Coral Beach at the southern tip of Cape Coral, right at the pretty fishing pier, should not go unmentioned.

It’s especially suitable for children, as they can easily be watched and the water is relatively shallow for quite a distance, so that the little ones can build amazing sand castles and splash around in the water.

There is also a children's playground, a boat fueling station, a large public swimming pool, and badminton and tennis courts. Once or twice a month there are sunset festivals with street vendors and artists. On Sundays you can listen to live music in the restaurant and bar.

Fort Myers BeachFort Myers Beach is seven miles of coastline populated by sun worshippers, with hotel complexes and some of the finest sandy beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. The beach is a very lively place with lots of hotel bars, restaurants, places to shop, etc.

Along the coast you find the islands known as the Florida Keys, which start with Captiva in the north and end with Lovers Key in the south.

Sanibel Island Lighthouse Beach
You should not miss a visit to the tropical islands of Sanibel and Captiva where the houses may not be taller than the palm trees. Far away from the hustle and bustle and mass tourism, you will experience an oasis of peace and relaxation, and many secluded beaches. The scenery is absolutely picturesque and it feels as if time has stood still.

Bowman’s Beach
At the famous Bowman's Beach on Sanibel Island there are no hotels, no condos or even houses. The beach is located amongst the dunes and forest. There are sanitary facilities with showers near the beach, and also some changing rooms and picnic areas with barbecue facilities, all making it possible to enjoy a longer stay on the beach.
